Because of the increase in ATV/Recreational Vehicle use and information brought to our attention by residents, we have found it necessary to post the following guidelines for guests of Terlingua Ranch Resort bringing their ATV's and Recreational Vehicles:
There is no public land on Terlingua Ranch. All land is privately owned by individuals. The roads are privately owned. Under no circumstances are ATVs or other recreational vehicles allowed off-road at Terlingua Ranch without the express consent of the individual property owner.
Terlingua Ranch Resort is operated as a separate entity and is owned communally by the 4000 plus individual property owners of Terlingua Ranch. Being a guest of Terlingua Ranch Resort in no way implies permission for on- or off-road activity of any kind.
Use of any road other than a POATRI resort owned road or county road is by the goodwill of the individual owners who may object at any time to the use of their roads by ATVs or other recreational vehicles. Good manners and good behavior builds goodwill. Obey all landowner posted signs and purple fence posts. Moderate speeds, low noise and dust around residences constitute good behavior. Littering is prohibited at all times and at all locations. Pack it in-Pack it out!
Use of the roads of Terlingua Ranch for any activity except ingress and egress may be construed as trespassing and is prosecutable under Texas law. Guests of Terlingua Ranch Resort in violation of on- or off-road restrictions will be asked to leave immediately and will not be allowed to return to the Resort. Damage to Terlingua Ranch roads by improper use of recreational vehicles will result in the same action.
In the immediate vicinity of the Resort, recreational vehicles must maintain a 10 mph speed limit and must be respectful of other vehicular traffic and foot traffic. Recreational vehicles are not allowed on the patio or the pool pavilion. "Wheelies," "donuts," racing, littering and other such activities are strictly prohibited.
Riders age sixteen or under must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian.
Users of ATVs and other recreational vehicles are asked to register with the office. The registration slip is to be carried by each rider throughout his or her stay.
